Does the number of fighter you've killed in Ultima 1 in space stay constant if you return to ground again-mainly to save your game and grind more gold-so there are less you need to kill upon returning to space?

The map enemies reset but I don't know if your kills do. If they don't, then this would make space ace the worst part of the game, and put me off trying to beat it.

If I understand you correctly, you want to know if you have to make all of your kills in one trip, or else keep starting over. The answer to that is No. You can return to Earth/Ultima as many times as you want, in order to:

a) Get more gold as needed,

b) Save your progress, and/or

c) Have enemies respawn closer, so that you don't have to hunt them all over the map.

You can also type "Z" (ztats) at any time to see how many enemies you've already killed, and thereby work out how many more you need. (It also works as a way to pause the game.)

Domo Arigato. That information will be very useful.
