I just have no end of troubles with this game. ;-)
So I vaguely remember something like four hours of playtime ago, when I went into the sleeping bull Inn and found a bunch of people that were just randomly aggressive. So under the assumption that 'angry' means 'supposed to die', I entered combat and watched a few NPCs die. Now, I've finished every other subquest up to this point, and I want to get on the boat and travel to Moonshade. But it keeps freezing up, so I look on a few wikis and discover that one of the carcasses on the floor of the inn, Flindo, is needed to start the sequence.
My question is; is there any way for me to resurrect him, or do I just have to restart from the beginning?

Generally, I would advise loading the game to the point before you started killing any NPC you can converse with in this game, as the only NPCs that you have to kill at that point are mostly Batlin's minions who will reveal themselves as such. In the Sleeping Bull Inn, there is also a sorcerer who can sell you spells available only from him only when you are about halfway through the game. The hourglass of time is the only way to resurrect characters, but it is very specific only for your three companions plus Iolo's spouse (not recommended to use it immediately on her either as you need to do something else and speak to her at a certain location after resurrecting her).

Therefore, I would recommend loading the game before you approach the Sleeping Bull. Restarting from the beginning would be too long unless you didn't save game in different slots periodically. Did the NPCs aggro you because you were running away from combat with hostiles as you approach the Sleeping Bull or did you miss the part when Selina reveals herself to be in league with Batlin's minions outside the Royal Mint and she teleports away leaving you to kill all the minions who show up there as you were leaving the building with the gold bars?

I have no idea why they aggroed me - as far as I was concerned, I was walking around the Sleeping Bull and the two (Flindo and someone whose name begins with B) started punching me in a futile attempt to kill me. This was right after I completed the Varo Leaves questline, and before anything like the Helm of Courage or the Fawn Trial - I did do the Royal Mint looting with Selina, but that was after the two were dead. And all my save slots were from a point after killing those two (I save in each slot in order, so my saves slowly move forward at a standard rate), so I guess a restart is the only option.
Regardless, thanks for the clarification!
One other warning: don't walk out onto the docks until you've a ship captain to sail with. The game can glitch and cause you to sail to Moonshade even though the captain isn't technically available yet... but this results in you being unable to get back from the island later.
