I'd be willing to pay a lot to get these games; more than what is standard. Can't seem to find them anywhere. Origin.com has them, but they won't download on my home computer, for some reason. Haven't played them since they came out back in the 90's, and want another chance at them. Could you guys at Gog really do this, please?
The complete Edition of U7 is available on GOG.

He seems to want them without expansions, based on what he has posted before. Even though I’d assume he would have the same problem downloading them, having no idea what he is doing wrong getting what GOG does have to download.

When you refer to "these games" I assume you mean without the Expansion Packs? I'm unsure why you would want them...the Expansion Packs just add additional quests to the game. You...don't have to play those quests. You can completely ignore the quests and the game will be just like the original.

In Forge of Virtue, the Expansion Pack adds an island, and some references to that island. You never have to visit that island to beat the game, and you can ignore any references to that island and still beat the game.

In Silver Seed, the Expansion Pack adds an area that you can only teleport to when you receive a certain item in the game. You never have to teleport to that area to beat the game, and when you receive that item you can just drop it somewhere and never use it, and you can still beat the game.

If you want the original version without the Expansion Packs, you'll need to pay...much more than what is standard...by searching through eBay or some other venue to find the original floppy disks. Then install the game using the original floppy disks on your computer without also installing the Expansion Packs that add the new quests. On eBay, I see Ultima 7 Black Gate disks selling for about $90, and Ultima 7 Serpent Isle disks selling for about $80.

And you've played this and can therefore confirm it? No offence, just trying to make sure.

Thanks for letting me know that expansion packs are just the same game with optional stuff you don't have to do with if you don't want to.

To back-step and explain myself: I got the original U7:TBG as a kid when it came out (first Ultima game I played and beat before this was Ultima VI: The False Prophet). My parents' computer only matched most of this games needs. Not the right sound card or something like that, so no music or dialog, but some sound effects, I think. Guardian's first appearance in the Avatar's computer only had subtitles. To help, I got the "Ultima VII Clue Book: Key to the Black Gate" book, which was AWESOME, and I might not have been able to beat TBG without it. I followed it's guide through the game that was near the end of the book, with that one U7 "author of the book" character talking to two other spiritual beings or something, saying all the right steps to take to beat the game, and eventually I did. I remember then getting and playing Serpent Isle after that, but after only playing about five minutes of it, I had to stop, but forget why (walked some of the way down the island path, away from the ship some). I REALLY want to go back and play those same two games all over again, fully this time, including also finally finding the book's fictional narrator, as I'm very curious about his fate. Unfortunately, I think my parents may have thrown out my U6 & 7 boxes after I moved out, with everything in them, including a guide to trainers booklet I wrote up for myself for U7, saying who all over Britannia who could train and make my party members stronger, and perhaps some other notes. I remember Sentry from Britain, who could do that AND join your party. I remember him from Ultima VI too (where he said he was from some other kingdom dimension and couldn't get back). Fortunately, I was able to also get a new compete U7 box on ebay with all that came with it, as well as new "Key To The Black Gate" book.

Does the original Serpent Isle game have a guide book also? If not, does Silver Seed?

I don't have a floppy disk drive on my computer. Is there a converter or something out there there that can transfer those old floppy disks to Windows 10 desktops?

Thanks, guys. :)

Yes, if you've purchased it through GOG, there are many "extras" that you can download in pdf format. The guides for the main game is in the "ultima_7_cluebook_" directory and the guides for the expansion packs is in the "ultima_7_guides" directory.

The full titles are:
Ultima VII Clue Book - Key to the Black Gate (written by Anton of New Magincia)
Ultima VII - A Guide to the Isle of Fire (written by Erethian)
Ultima VII Part Two Serpent Isle Clue Book - Balancing the Scales (written by Thoxa, Monk of Xenka)
Ultima VII Part Two Serpent Isle - The Silver Seed Play Guide - (written by Isstanar)

It's possible to find hard copies for a much, much higher price.

You can purchase a 3.5 floppy disk drive that connects to a modern computer using a USB. I see them going for about $25 on Amazon.com right now.
Just to clarify and seperate core games and addons a bit more.

The Clue book is one thing for U7BG, The Fellowship by Batlin another.

Same goes for SI: Manual is called "Beyond the Serpent Pillars" - the clue book is what it says: a clue book, not a manual.

"A GUide to the Isle of Fire" is the manualfor the Addon for BG, so you might want to skip this

"The Silver Seed" is the manual for the SI Addon. Might be one to skip as well.

The extra content (Addon) in Sepent Isle is conviently skipable packed in an exra "area" - just never use the Amulet of Balance on a Serpent Gate and you will never know you have the addon

The Extra addon for BG is not so "standalone" - the main thing it is an extra island, true (Isle of Fire, wher you shouldn't go) but there is other stuff, you cannot circumvent. You'll expierience an earthquake thta isnt there without the addon, plus Lord British will give you a ship for free if you ask him, that comes only with the addon. There are 3 or 4 new sidequests coming with the addon as well as the possibility to forge a mikghty weapon yourself.

All that said: it doesn't really spoil your experience but rather add to it. Main thing is: nothing of the original games is lost :-)

You know, that just reminded me...that weapon that you forge in the FoV...you start with that weapon in Ultima VII: Part Two, no matter what version of Serpent Isle you install.
Correct, you also start with a blackrock serpent figure which you would have gained in UW2 (which story is set between BG and SI)...if you had played it...no matter if you actually did.

Since there was no character transfer functionality in said installments of the series, it was the only possible option. At least they went some legths to neatly explain what you got and where you supposingly got it from ;-)
