Whenever I boot up U7 it freezes up until I alt+enter to put it into a windowed mode, is there anyway to keep it running full screen or atleast resize it? I'm running win7 on an M14x and am clueless, thanks.

This question / problem has been solved by uchosimage
Have you tried changing the Dosbox Graphics Mode (using the included Setup program)?

I don't know what's the default, but it sounds like a problem that can be solved finding the right graphic mode for your hardware.
Uchos you rule, I didnt even realize that was there haha. Working just fine now thanks a bunch.

Glad it worked.

Have fun!
I just downloaded Ultima VII. The images are too big for my screen, but when I try to change the settings in DOSBox I get an error message that the game isn't installed. It must be installed because I can play it. The second problem I have is that the ESC key doesn't do anything. I want to save my game, but I can't get to the save/exit menu. I hope someone can advise me on how to correct these problems. Thanks in advance.

Never mind. I stumbled around and figured it out. Thanks!

Running under WIN XP, the game shuts down randomly and I get the windows "do you want to send this error to Microsoft", forcing me to go into task manager and shutting down dosbox. I have tried going into the conf file and shutting down the sound which doesn't seem to work because I still get sound.
Anyone else have this problem?

How did you get it to work, because I'm having the same issue.

Out in the folder where the game is installed (default c:\program files\gog.com\the complete ultima vii) there is an executable called 'graphic mode setup.exe'. Run it and try the different settings.

Actually that won't work. You need to use the shortcut that the installer created (it should be in the start menu folder) because there are command-line options applied to the executable to identify the game you're modifying and possibly other options, not sure.

That did the trick, thank you.

Have you tried "Alt+Enter"?
Your description of the problem is a little vague otherwise. :)

I cant find these solutions anywhere and U7 is so large on my screen its unplayable. If I alt enter it just makes it tiny and annoying. Ive looked for settings for dosbox and U7 and found nothing that allows me to change these things. I am not savy with a pc in any way so if there is a link to a step by step for idiots Id love that.
