Any idea how to avoid a crash that happens when trying to sail to Trinsic? I bought the map in Bucaneer's Den and when Raven ask me where to sail and i choose Trinsic, the game crashes. :(
I do not want sail manually to Trinsic, because it's so slooooow.

I never had this crash before in my other playtroughs.

Given the mention of Raven, the original question is probably for Ultima 9, which does not have a magic carpet. You could use a cheat to fly over the waters there, though. Open the file "default.kmp" in a text editor, and add the following line under [CHEAT COMMANDS]:

alt+shift+k = toggle_avatar_fly

You can ten toggle flying (which is also a noclip cheat) by pressing that combination of keys. Of course, you could make it any other key or combination of keys you wish, but be sure to have it be something which is not already used by another function.

lol sorry! It's been awhile since I've played Ultima VII, so I thought there was someone named Raven. Actually I'm not even sure if you could charter ships in VII.
For anyone else with the same problem, it just happened to me and you can still sail there manually.

Probably easiest to do it from Britain and just sail south-west - the Trinsic dock is in the eastern part of the city - just look for the wooden dock. If you press "ESC" when you're next to the dock, the ship will automatically dock properly.
2021 and i still have this problem? Fix this problem 1 manual sail, or is Raven is bugged? I tried to mess with graphical settings, but it doesnt help..

I know this is an old thread but I had this same issue and I traced it to the latest patch, 1.19h. I also had crashes with the moongates using it. So I use 1.19g.
this almost makes me want to play Ultima IX, just to take a crack at fixing and making a patch for that bug.

This only happend in the directx version of the game. If you play the nglide 3Dfx version it won't happen. Seems to be a bug on the Map 9 file only for Direct 3D. Perhaps I will find the corresponding file from the glide version to replace it with the directx one. Only solution is to copy the save files to the other port and sail to Trinsic and copy it back.
I just wanted to add the nglide that came with the game gave me a black screen. I updated to the latest version and it's running fine now.
I just got the crash on sailing from Britain to Trinsic twice with NGlide on patch 1.19g.
