Hi everybody,

you may or may not have heard of JohnGlassmyers UltimaHacks. Amongst other neat stuff, this patch brings the more comfortable controls and shortcuts of Serpent Isle back to Ultima 7 - The Black Gate.

In case you are already intrigued by now, go check his website at https://github.com/JohnGlassmyer/UltimaHacks

The only little downside of the patch is, that the US keyboard layout is hardcoded, so some of the neat features are not available for other countrys keyboard layouts.

After integrating the UltimaHacks patch in my German Language patch for Ultima 7, I thought, it might be useful for some of you to be able to make full use of this wonderful work and created localized versions of said patch.

Right now, I have finished the patch for UK, France, Switzerland and Germany. While the swiss and german version have a german in-game manual, too, the french and british versions remain English. (I have no reasonable knowledge of french I'm afraid)

So in case you want to try it out, get the patch from my website, unzip it rename the .EXE to U7.exe and replace the original file.

To learn what the patch enables you to do (while keeping the original interface intact) press ALT+K and read the manual.

In case you come across any bugs or peculiarities, do let me know.

Enjoy and drop JohnGlassmyer a thanks when you get the chance to - IMO it's well deserved :-)

P.S. @GOG-Team: you might want to try this one out and offer it yourself actually :-)
Good stuff. :)

If you want to have the GOG team read your post, I think you'll need to e-mail them.
I e-mailed them after Dominus put those two Exult/Pentagram question threads up, because I don't think moderators read every post on these forums. They wouldn't have the manpower.
Got a friendly reply back and they were stickied.
