Thanks much for Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar! Now that's how an Adventure/RPG is done! And no less thanks for the documents, including the "spellbook".

The "spellbook", actually titled The Book of Mystic Wisdom, when the runes on the front cover are translated into contemporary English, is beautifully rendered in the .PDF available for download on this site! :)

Unfortunately, though, there is one big problem: Page 8 is missing! I've been searching around the web for another copy, but all of the copies I've found are likewise also missing page 8! Yes, ALL of them, in many places on the Inet. :/

Of course an obvious solution would be to make a whole new scan of the original hardcopy "manual", but I, myself, don't have a copy, nor do I have a scanner, sadly.

But better perhaps would be to just simply find a scan of the missing page, but I don't know where one might find a scan of a single page. (And since all the other pages and cover are already scanned so nicely and Pro-like there would be no need to re-scan them all IF the missing page could be found.)

I did, however, eventually find only one instance of the page. It is here:

Hmm, not quite as nice, is it? But I could find no other (maybe someone else with superior searching skills than I could?). The color of the page is not the same as the other pages in the .PDF--too light. But worse, the scan is crooked and misaligned, like maybe someone was a bit drunk, or had misplaced their glasses when scanning that--its bottom-edge out of the range of the scan. Sorry to say, but it's a bit of a sloppy scan.

But hey, at least it's there! I actually could repair that (I think) IF I had the proper editing software AND the skills/know-how to do so. Unfortunately, I have neither. :( But maybe someone else does. Gee, I sure hope so! hehehe

Anyway, I did not know if anyone was aware of the missing page or if anyone had given report about it. So I am hehehe

Thanks! And GOG rocks! Keep up the great and important work! hehehehe

This question / problem has been solved by grviperimage
EA couldn't be arsed to check the stuff they borrow from free archives.
Get the spell book from the Extras here http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/25548/Ultima+IV+-+Quest+of+the+Avatar.html Page 8 is there, right in the pdf.
Oh, the full list of keys is there too in the reference card extra.
P.S. Is it me or the GoG url autotag got absolutely trashed recently?

Dude, you RULE! YEAH! Thanks, man! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! *much bowing and worshiping* It DOES have page 8 in it! AND it even has the back-cover as well! Awesome!

Maybe GOG should replace the .PDF it has with that one? And maybe they should get that Player Reference Card and make it available here with the game also?

LOL looking at my orginal post above, I also wonder hehehe Maybe I should edit and correct the post hehehehe

Thanks again! You rock, man! hehehe

Not meaning to bitch, but suddenly Abandonia is not a wretched hive of scumm and villany, inhabited by filthy pirates? Also I would point out that those scans are made by the users there, so you could at least credit the site/uploader, if you link scans from there.
