Just thought someone might be interested in this. (I wasn't the one playing.)

The whole idea behind this speedrun is that, as long as you use the same lucky number, you get the same sequence of random numbers. By mapping out the sequence, you can predict the outcome of random events, allowing you to use the amulet to raise your stats, as well as avoid having it break.

Basically, since the RNG is fixed (it's actually seeded by the lucky number you enter), you can basically have TAS level RNG manipulation in this game.

I wasn't the one who did the speedrun.

To be honest, I don't think it would take too long to figure out a sequence of actions, especially if one finds a way to run the game in a TAS-capable emulator. All you would have to do is make a TAS of the game, then do the exact thing the TAS does in real time, as you will get the same results.

When you have a game that is heavily RNG dependent, and it's possible for the player to control the seed (in this case, the lucky number you enter becomes the seed), it then becomes easy to manipulate the RNG, meaning that you can force getting ridiculously lucky.
Ah, this is what I get for not paying attention.

I just started the game myself today and was wondering how long it takes to complete after a 3 hour long fruitless slog when I saw this thread, which should explain my whole whoa reaction. :D
