I've found Pearl of Wind, but haven't really noticed any difference.

Special weapon activate every time they're ready (the indicator is in top left corner) and you start firing. So in order to fire one, you have to stop firing first, at least for a moment.

Some are rather useless, but tend to have higher recharge rate, some are quite powerful.
