As the title says, I heard rumors that the DLC can make the Tyranny experience worse due to possibly game breaking bugs. Is that true or not? Would you recommend playing Tyranny with or without the DLC?

You should install the DLCs. I had a playthrough last year with all of the DLCs and I don't remember any significant bugs. So probably most of them are fixed now. :)

A bit late to the thread, but it is true that Bastard's Wound is a buggy expansion in the sense that some quest might be impossible to accomplish if you do things in a wrong order. However, these do not affect the main plot.
