Hi,

I've already played 93 hours of Tyranny (last time I did it quite a long time ago) and in the mean time I've purchased all the DLCs. I wanted to start playing again, but the game doesn't seem to start anymore.
Using GOG Galaxy, after pressing the play button it looks like the program wants to start (black screen and the mouse in the shape of a hand is visible) but then stops abruptly. No error, nothing. I can play all my other games fine without any issue either via GOG (Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, Everspace... etc) or Steam or Origin.

I've reinstalled VS Redistributed 2012, but it didn't help.

A re-installation didn't help. The game doesn't start.

This is officially a problem now...
It looks like my Bitdefender anti-virus was blocking the game. More specifically the Anti-Ransomware module. As soon as I added it as an exception, everything started up normally.

It's strange that it was that particular module that was blocking it. I don't have any other exception in that area, but I do have for almost all my games in the Firewall and Application access area. I do hope Tyranny doesn't contain any ransomware :)

Maybe this info will help somebody else.
Hello,
Same problem here and it solved by the same way. Thank you for the topic.

I had same problem, but after pressing Play button I didn't even see black screen. I added game at the exeption list, but nothing changed. So, I try to disconnect Wi-Fi, and, for some reasons, it works.
