I have to look how the german voice actors did their jobs.
It's something between Ultima IX and Oblivion--Stilted dialogue and plot, but tons to do and can be decently enjoayable.
People who complain about bugs in Two Worlds either have never played it and are just repeating stuff they read; or they got it when it was released and it was buggy and unfinished.

Today Two Worlds is bug-free and solid as a rock so far as I can tell after maybe 80 hours.

It does not have the production values of Oblivion for instance, but it has a lot of character and interesting mechanics and loads to do in-game.

I have had a lot of fun with it....oh and yes...I like the voice acting...especially the no-shit taking PC.

Great game all round.
The voice acting, and the quite particular humour, actually, in my view, make TW series a minor gem, and not just a "poor man's Morrowind."

I do think that the "Hero" of the first game was a poppet, and I missed the voice on the sequel, I did, indeed.

Besides the bugginess upon release, which would punish unfairly early adapters and fans, I would see as flaws:

- unbalanced writing in TW - any cities or faction interactions take place up in the north, and yeah, besides possible alchemy ingredients the exploring is not that interesting - fighting endless monsters even if they might be hard is not really thrilling

- though alchemy allowed to keep interest in killing those monsters and running around, I thought this was a bit over-powered

- TW2, more polish but arguably less soul... and hated the console port interface for PC, though this is subjective opinion in any case... But the relationship building was better, and questing more balanced across the whole game world for sure... and just love the humour!! But wish the original Voice would have returned...

- Looting & inventory sucked for both... And one does that a lot.

Mind you - these are remarks from a fan, where a lot was improved for TW2, excepting the insulting flaw of making the console experience the leading one, IMO.

I think (most) such flaws must be accepted with good graces if we want development studios of lesser budgets to have their chance of enriching the mainstream and establishing themselves there.

I for one look forward to TW3 - hoping it will keep the best of both, and throw in something original too for good measure while at it.
I think you'll find nearly all of the hate is for the console version, which was a very bad port.

The problem is a console gamer will just say "I hate this game", whereas a PC gamer would say "I hate the conversion"

Hence, many thought the haters were talking about the PC version, because they didn't specify they were talking about the console version!

Minus, maybe, voice-acting critique - which I still think was very charming, and a strong point of the first game. My unrealistic wish actually is that we might get the main voice of the first game to return, as of yet... :-D

Meanwhile, as a PC gamer, my fear is that the console gamers' complaints are heard with keener ear than those of others.

I thought already the looting bit where a screen always had to be opened and closed with TW2 was a regeneration compared with previous interface - when a game on PC can only be enjoyed with a controller, that's to me the kiss of death to gaming enjoyment!
