I bought this yesterday but its borderline unplayable because of the UI.

its so TINY!! I really struggle to see it and make out what the icons are.

I've looked in the settings but found no way to scaling the ui up.

are there any mods that scale up the UI?

I can't play the game as-is, the UI is far too tiny to see :(

Try lowering resolution of the game.

I did that, its a little better but still not usable. also I dislike playing on a 'postage stamp' sized screen. :(

To clarify, when you say postage stamp do you mean the lower resolution is being shown with black borders all around it? This setting can be changed in your video card's control panel. Scaling shouldn't be too bad if you choose a resolution with the same aspect ratio.

The Two Worlds Control Panel doesn't seem to list any UI scaling values so the game engine has no function for this; using a lower resolution is probably your only option.

My main monitor is 1680x1050, so running TW at something like 1024x768 just so I can see the UI, means the game screen is tiny on my monitor.

I guess theres no way to fix it, I've just uninstalled it and put it down to 'bad purchase'

As I said you can override this in your video card's control panel, e.g. for AMD it looks like this. Once scaling is set up correctly any lower resolutions will expand to fill the whole monitor as expected.

Here you can also choose whether or not resolutions with other aspect ratios maintain their original proportions. This choice is personal preference; it doesn't affect game compatibility or anything like that.

Since your monitor has a 16:10 aspect ratio you'll want to use 16:10 resolutions in-game if possible so the game can make the best use of your monitor's aspect ratio (common 16:10 resolutions are 1024x640, 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 2560x1600).
