I obtained the first runestone that the orc blacksmith asked me to get but when I activate a teleporter I never see a marker to get back to the orc base. I've been just completing other quests but sooner or later I would like to go back and give it to him.

Also, if I have a level 16 ring with two slots for crystals and a level 10 ring with two slots for crystals is there any advantage using/keeping the higher level ring over the lower?

Alsorna, the Orc island, is in the NE corner of the world map. There are two teleports on the East side of the island. You want the one in the SE corner of the island. That will teleport you to Ghortarius' chamber (which is right across from your own room).

On the rings, I don't think so, at least I haven't noticed a difference. As long as you can slot the crystals you want into the ring, the level shouldn't matter.

No problem. The game is a lot of fun - I ended up getting the Velvet Edition for both the PS3 and the PC (though my PS3 copy is digital).
