what's the easiest way to do as many quests as possible, if not all? I don't mean cheating, but maybe a certain quest/faction order or something.

the brotherhood doesn't affect other factions, but the others do and 10/10 rep seems pretty easy to reach (every rep quest seems to give 2 points, though you only find out when you finish them), and there are probably more quests than rep points to get. I wouldn't care one way or the other, a mere 2 points lets me take quests/enter places, 5-6 supposedly spawns the leaders (more quests?) and that's enough for me, but 10/10 also means that the opposing faction's rep resets to 0 and they won't give any more quests or let you into their towns, at least this guide says so.

then there's this excellent collection of information, which says that 10/10 with every faction is possible if you don't kill any faction leaders or other npcs that'd piss off a faction.

my first thought was that I'd do all the quests for everyone, reaching 9/10 presumably, then stop before they want me to kill an opposing boss and everybody's happy. then at the end of the game, or when I have no need for a faction (no more quests) I can choose sides. but with rep reset, how is it possible? there has to be more than a handful of quests per faction. although I could pick up the rope necro quest without any rep, so maybe completing it only after reaching 10/10 society rep and so resetting necro rep, then raising it to 2 with the rope was the way to go? (too late for that now.)

so, what's the deal? now I have 2-6 points with everyone, except skelden (0) and the brotherhood (10). I've only done a few quests so far, just been exploring and killing wildlife, but haven't been to that many 'real places' either.

to answer my own question: maxing one faction's rep doesn't reset the opposition's. got max karga, still have the 2/10 skelden. problem solved, I guess.
