I'm downloading the game now. Will take some hours. But from what I read on the net it says the game is buggy and needs to be patched. On GOG it says package contains orginal game. Does not mention patch level, so I'm wondering if it needs patching?
All GOG games are patched to the latest official patch available. No need to go hunting for patches for this one.
Actually you'll render your game unusable by applying any official retail patch as they restore the DRM and disk checks the retail version had. So don't even try. GOG versions do not need patching.
You'll recieve version 1.7 from what I understand this is the latest version. The only thing you might want to install -after- you've registered / implemented serial key is a multiplayer 'tab' hotfix that's been floating around:
http://files.gog.com/support/setup_two_worlds_multiplayer_tab.exe
This is only for if you're interested in playing multiplayer. Also, for multiplayer you have to register a support ticket for the game to request a serial key. Response time should be about 2 days after submitting it.
Go here if you want to get a serial key:
http://www.gog.com/en/support/contact/technical_issues_with_games
Select the game title: Two Worlds
Select the problem: Multiplayer key request
And type a little something in the subject / message. (never hurts to be polite ;) )
-CH.
Don't apply that hotfix since it restores the DRM. So you will have to activate the game if you use it.
...
That is unless it has been updated, which I doubt since GOG has ignored the problem since the beginning.

It doesn't restore the DRM and you don't need to activate the game, but you do need to enter a multiplayer key in order to connect to the multiplayer servers. I am assuming that is what you mistook for a game activation and DRM.

Don't be daft, I am not the only one who has suffered the restored DRM. The hotfix (unless later fixed without actually telling the community) restores activations, if you do not activate then the single player mode is thrown into demo mode and you can only play in the tiny region that the demo allows.

See a thread here (which I started) to see others confirmation.

Sorry, but you are utterly wrong, it does not do that. Whether it originally did that, I don't know, but if it did, it no longer does and hasn't at least since the day I bought the game (a couple months ago now).

No I am not utterly wrong, everytime I have stated that the problem may have been fixed without informing the community. If you are to be believed (which I do) then this has fortunateky happened.
