twifight: From what I've heard the GOG version is made by an entirely different company that made the 'GOG port'. I have no source for this, but I read that somewhere.
Seeing that the game has been out for ages and likely no patches to the game will be made anymore, my guess is that the version numbers here are the versions of the port itself. So no changes to the game, just changes to make it GOG compatible.
That said, it is still a terrible system and I have not seen any patch notes either. Amateur stuff.
pooiyx: Is there a list that anyone has made that shows a mapping of the official version numbers to the GOG version numbers?
It shouldn't be too difficult to make for the more recent versions since the official version number (and its release date) are shown ingame.
I am not exactly sure what you mean, but here's my reply.
The latest patch for all previous gameplatforms is, according to your link, 1.29.52, dated on 28.06.2022.
The release here on GOG was somewhere mid october, which is obviously several months later. By all logic that should mean that any patch that was ever release for the game itself should already be in this version on GOG.
That said, the ingame version displayed in the game is v1.19.0 with a string date of 10.11.2022. However, as I previously said, I expect those to be numbers used for the GOG port and not be directly relevant for comparison of patches of other platforms. In other words, I would think there is no mapping to make, as the version numbers don't actually indicate the same code.
Then again, the GOG release has been quite disappointing from the porting company and they don't seem to do any testing either, so all is open.
