Hey all,

Tropico 3 won't start. Originally had the unknown chipset error, fixed that by deleting the suggestd file on another thread. Now when I attempt to start the game, it will not start. It immediately crashes and gives me the generic Windows 7 error. Looking at the game crash logs, it says "unable to parse map file."

Any suggestions?

I'm getting pretty much the same thing.

"unable to find or parse map file" in the crash log.

Gonna try re-DLing the installer for now...
That wasn't it. checksums were the same and installing from the new files didn't help anyway.

I found out what the issue was though. Looks like it freaks out if you have more than one monitor active. It runs if I disable my secondary and tertiary monitors.

WTF is up with that? I'm pretty sure I've got games nearing drinking age around here that don't have issues with more than one monitor.

That help you any OP?
