Hi,

I'm trying to start the game on my ultrabok Lenovo Yoga Ideapad that has no CD/DVD/BR device. I've read somewhere that this error is connected with the lack of regular disk device, but is there a solution?

Hi,

The best way to solve this problem is to mount a virtual CD-ROM drive using a program like PowerISO. Once you do that the game will think you have a real CD-ROM drive and launch without a hassle.

It worked! Thanks :)
You should mark the thread as solved then, have fun playing.
I'm trying to run Tropico through Crossover, and I'm getting the same error message. Any ideas?

To me that's not a solution. This should be fixed so that this workaround is not required.

I agree. In the future, computers, more than likely, won't have optical drives anymore. But Tropico will need to work without one.

Unless you are willing to get permission from the game manufacturer to change the game code, then take the time to recode the game to ignore looking for a CD-ROM drive, you can only have workarounds and not permanent solutions. Back when this game was released, it was normal to have a CD-ROM. It was not normal to play the game from a downloaded package.

I installed PowerISO and that was all I had to do. I don't have to mount the game every time I start it.
