Considering that the music in the game is so awesome and is one of the best things about the game, I find it odd that it's not available as a separate download.
I'd like to be able to play it outside the game.
How about it, GOG? Is this possible? It'd also be an attraction for other people to get the game.
This question / problem has been solved by frankd3image
In the announcement thread they said that they are working on it.

Indeed, they are working on it; however, I'm afraid it won't be here for some more time, considering these are sold on CD Baby for $9.99 apiece.
Fingers crossed they can convince everyone/anyone necessary to let them include them in the pack!
Aww that sucks.
I'd understand if they can't get the soundtrack as a separate download since it's being sold.
But it seems like a bad idea for the publisher to be selling it separately. It would help them to push sales since the games in question are old and the soundtrack would be a big selling point (especially if people hear it while trying out the demo like I did).
I'm sure it would be legal for us to extract it from the game if we knew how to do it. After all, we can just leave the game running and alt-tab out. It's just too inconvenient.
I wish I knew how to do that however:(
Okay Tropico 2 music is in music.{}. You just have to change the extension to .mp3
I couldn't find it in Tropico 1 unfortunately.

No, Tropico's music, as far as I know, is compressed in some way known only to the devs.
Maybe GOG and the publisher can make an arrangement of some sorts (like, GOG pays a larger sum of money and they can give the soundtrack as an extra). Here's to hoping they can work out something!
Until then, you can always check YouTube for the tracks; many of them are there.
Thanks man I'll check it out.

Well, it came sooner than I thought :-).
Even if it's "only" Tropico's music, with some Paradise Island and Pirate Cove tracks mixed in, it's good to have it here.

Awesome. Thanks, GOG!
Tropico 2's soundtrack doesn't need to be a downloadable file. The mp3 is available in the Data folder:) It's music.{} Change that to music.mp3.
huge huge thanks to the gog team for adding tropico 1 soundtrack to goodies; had the game in disk since 2001 or so and always had been looking for the soundtrack or a way to extract it from the install files, with no success....
i was feeling like playing the game again but the drm and cd protection were bothering me; only was waiting for gog to put the soundtrack to push myself !
thank a lot, had been waiting for this for the past 8 years
Hey, the Music for Tropico, Paradise Island and Pirate Cove have been out for several years now. Here: www.lmsrecords.com

For clarity's sake, Is the included music ONLY for Tropico 1, or is it for Tropico, Tropico Paradise Island, AND DOES IT INCLUDE !!! Tropico 2 Pirate's Cove Soundtrack (Awesome ... truly Awesome Pirate Folksy music)?????
