Does the game support or plan to support DRM-free multiplayer?

Right now, it does not have LAN. When I tried to use it without GOG Galaxy, it just said you must sign in to play multiplayer. It's anybody's guess weather or not the devs will add LAN multiplayer, but I wouldn't hold my breath. For the record, I have NOT tried it with GOG Galaxy
Here's hoping they add it in. I too want DRM-free multiplayer, meaning no client required, no serial keys, none of that.
They absolutely should. Can't be that hard to implement...
Hi everybody,
there are currently no plans in adding additional (lan/offline) multiplayer options for Tropico 6.

Sadly this makes it a nonstarter if it is a multiplayer game. I do like Tropico but I plan to skip T6 now that I know this. I will only buy this series on GOG and don't use Galaxy usually.

Thanks for replying at least ! So many developers wouldn't even bother...

That being said, despite it being on Linux, I won't buy it. Imho Tropico 4 is the last true Tropico game, and one of the worst offenders for me is that starting with 5, each and every character in the game has stopped being truly simulated. I guess that made things easier to program, not needing to take care for potential game logic deadlocks, but since then I've not been able to really immerse into what now looks too much like a fake world to me.
