Does anyone know if the game will play the soundtrack off the hard drive or do you still have to have a CD of tracks to play any music?

The music plays, don't know how they did it, haven't looked into it either as I just bought the game. It just installs and everything works, the soundtrack didn't work last I checked the impulse version so this is a big thumbs up for GoG :)

Thats great news, its some of Jeremy Soule's best work and it build the atmosphere so well in game :D

Wow, awesome work GoG. I heard that the music didn't work with impulse, so I never even considered buying it. Knowing this, I am MORE THAN SOLD. This is a for sure purchase!

So what format is the music in? Mp3? Ogg? Buried in a .dat file?

The music is in mp3 format.

The fact that GoG's version of TA has the music working is reason enough to buy it. I had the Impulse version which does not play the music files.

It was worth re-buying it from GoG just for the music.
