Is this similar to previous updates and that it will not destroy your previous saved game files, or do I need to uninstall and reinstall? I am wondering about the new Syndicate as well, never got an answer there.

If you're talking about the Mac update, then it shouldn't destroy your saves as we fixed the game to support multiplayer and resolutions past 640 x 480. The original game version remains the same :)

I would advise to make back ups of your saves, however :)

This only applies to Mac, right?
So if I do not need the mac version, this update isn't necessary, correct?

didn't the windows version of Total Annihilation update as well? I remember seeing it also went to gold and all.
