As title suggested i downloaded the d3d file,thanks to another post here on the forum,and the once glitched grahpics were once again working as intended,BUT it's slowed down to a absolute crawl 1-2 fps. Im not sure what to do.Please any suggestions to get this great game working like it used to again?

Looks like its about narzoul (or some forks based on exactly his dll) ddraw.dll file wrapper. And you are i guess on Win7.
3.0 and 3.1 versions of his dll is broken on Win7. Use 2.1 or download latest "test"-version (though he say it porbably never go to release ans stay alternative, Win8+ has abosultely NO backward DirectX compatibility).

QWEEDDYZ, Thank-you so much for this,it worked perfectly and now i can play without any problems. Kudos to you good sir !
(edit) Not only did this work and fix TA it also fixed all the problems i had with Pax Imperia too. Playing with music and no graphics messed up fantastic !
