Wanted to try the Stash Mod, but considering it looks like there are problems with many mods, I'd like to backup the savefiles before I do it, just in case it gets mucked up somehow. Have you got any idea where they are located on Windows XP? I can't find them in the usual places.

Not sure about on XP. On Win7 they're in \AppData\Roaming\runic games\torchlight\save\
Perhaps \Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\runic games etc ?

Alternatively, do a full search for 0.SVT and see what turns up. Unless you've deleted characters, that should find them. (Try 1.SVT, 2.SVT etc instead then.) Make sure to search in hidden folders, just in case.

Thanks, I found it now.

Searched for "torchlight" earlier on various disks, but I guess it doesn't search through hidden folders by default because I didn't find anything relevant.
