This may be a dumb question. I can't remember...

Do TR1, 2 & 3 support a mouse? I'm sure I used to use a mouse when I had a PC with the originals - but my copies needed CDs, so I bought the GOG edition. But I'm using a laptop now, so I've always used keyboard control only. Now I've reached a spot in TR1 where I want the finer control of a mouse (leaping multiple columns with flames belching out the top), and I find that neither my touchpad (which I don't want to use anyway) nor a USB mouse work (even if I switch off the touchpad before starting).

SO... am I wring in remembering playing TR1 with a mouse? Is there a setting? Do I have to reinstall?

Tomb Raider 1,2 and 3 haven't mouse support. In classic serie only AoD has a mouse control.
You can download this tool to implement it, though: Mouse Raider.

why don't you play them with a gamepad, they were sort of designed for gamepads. I played them with a really cheap ps2 knockoff gamepad and they worked great.
Weird... I so remember playing with a mouse...

Oh, well, thanks for the replies. I have tried a gamepad, but I can't get the hang of those. Even an Xbox controller - the biggest pad I've tried - seems too small for me. It's only for this one room anyway - if I ever do get past it I'll most likely revert to keyboard only anyway!
Nevermind.

dr.schliemann: Sometimes the "free look" is very helpful, but you can't use it without keypad, and I suppose you don't have it on your laptop's keyboard...
You can bind the free look to a key of your liking via the ingame options. This way you can use it even though you are playing on a laptop without a numpad.

Yes, my fault: you can assign another key for "free look". Correcting my old post...

Does anyone still have a copy of Mouse Raider?
Unfortunately the tool seems to be wiped from the face of the internet,
both home pages are offline, the Wayback Machine didn't catch the downloads,
it isn't mirrored on any fanpages and any torrents it was ever on are offline, too.
Help, anyone? :D
