...and I'm confused again. This is why:

1. launching the updater
2. klicked apply the update
3. updater tells me my version isn't compatible (red font)
4. trying again, because I wanna post the exact message and had already closed it
5. updater tells me "Update already applied!" (green font)

So.. I guess it's just the "incompatible version" message displayed incorrectly, while everything actually worked fine?

i've had the same. then the games didn't work properly. just deleted everything and reinstalled the games without the patch. it's ok now.

Same error here. Re-installed, re-patched and it worked fine. I had ran the configuration utility of TR2&3 prior to patching the first time, and had edited the glide.ini & dosbox.conf of TR1.

Yep, can confirm now. Had the glide.ini changed too (changed resolution). Reinstall, works fine now. I guess reinstalling might even not be necessary if I had changed the resolution back to 0.0 ... tehe =)

I'm not complaining, but you could still have included Tomb Raider 2 Golden Mask, I mean I know it would be different for the TR3 expansion (Lost Artifact) because it was sold as a disc commercially, but Golden Mask was a free PC-only downloadable expansion for TR2, you can download it off the net, so I would assume no licensing issues would exist with GOG adding it.

The problem is, it requires the Tomb Raider 2 disc to be in the drive to play, which won't work with the GOG version.

Edit: Also, just a note, not sure if anyone else has this little problem, but when I start TR3 for the first time, it doesn't bring up the set-up config before playing, meaning the game starts in a tiny resolution (and for some reason) no sound. This is solved just by opening the "Setup" of TR3 in the start menu.

Actually there is a way to play the golden mask with the GOG version. though it involves burning a CD.
Simply burn the contents of the GOG Tomb Raider 2 folder to a CD. Be sure to copy only the contents, not the folder itself. Then install the GOlden Mask complete from www.tombraiderchronicles.com. Put your CD in your DVD/CD drive and it should work fine.

THanks to GOG for providing a version of the Multipathcer that will work with the GOG version. There was a work around to use the Multipatcher before but this is a lot easier.

EDIT: Tried to install the patch, and it claimed I had the "wrong version". Tried the patch again with a fresh install and it worked this time.

Tomb Raider 2's looping music is fixed! Yes!

Why are you arguing aginst making things easier?

Why are you getting involved when we already sorted this?

I just don't understand why someone would specifically WANT to go through two downloads, two installations, etc; when one could suffice. Especially since the patch is apparently design to really only work well on a brand new "fresh" install.

It's something that GOG could integrate into the main installer...so why NOT do that?
