I have recently bought Tomb Raider AOD from GOG.com and have downloaded it via GOG Galaxy. At first, it worked fine, and I saved a few times, always receiving a "save successful" message every time. However, when I got a game over and tried to load my save, it did not recognize that there were any saves, forcing me to start from a new game. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, installing patches, and even downloading save games from the internet, yet it still refuses to recognize them. It isn't a problem with saving, as a file is created in the save game folder after each save, but they do not show up when I try to load a game or even when I try to save a game. In both cases it acts as if there is no save.

The save game folder is in C:\Program Files (x86)\GalaxyClient\Games\Tomb Raider 6\SaveGame
The file that is created after saving is called 1 and is a TRAODSG file. I have tried downloading the non-Galaxy version but the download has failed each time.

Sorry if this seems a bit verbose, but I am fairly disappointed and want to give as much information as I possibly can think of in order to resolve this problem.

Thank you.

Edit: I have managed to download the non-galaxy version but the problem still persists.

Greetings.

Here is what fixed it for me.

http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Tomb_Raider:_The_Angel_of_Darkness

Go to 'Can't load saves' section and follow the instructions.

If the window border is visible after applying the first fix, apply the window border fix, available on that same page, as well.

Hopefully it works out for you.

See you.
This does not work for me. When I try to set compatibility mode the box is greyed out (and set to windows 98 / me). I can however use the button to change settings for all users and set compatibility mode from there. But when I do that and try to run the game this happens...

Edit: Nevermind, complete brain fart, while trying to find out why I couldn't change the compatibility mode I somehow forgot the next steps and that's why it didn't work. It works completely fine.
