Hello
are new to the forum and I write from Italy, I do not speak English very well, so I hope I do not make too many mistakes and you understand me.
In this day I have looked for answers to my problem on the forum and I have found some old post , but I'm not certain that the solution may be still valid now , then try to ask again .
My problem is this: I bought a few days ago Tomb Raider 1-2-3 on GOG and I downloaded only TR 1 on my PC, I set the dosbox included in the package, created icon Tomb Raider 1 on my desktop, but when I launch the game, it opens the DOS window and then a dialog box that tells me" Unable to Initialize DirectX9 "
I have done the DxDiag.txt computer files , but it is impossible to attach it because he says: wrong file format , so I write what I copied in the File, waiting to be able to attach it !

I'm using a desktop IBM model 2373M3G
OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
BIOS: Phoenix FirstBIOS(tm) Notebook Pro Version 2.0 for IBM ThinkPad
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.80GHz, ~1.8GHz
Grafic card VGA Standard : ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 DAC type: 8 bit
Display current mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (1Hz) . DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DDraw Status: Not Available
D3D Status: Not Available
AGP Status: Not Available

Either try:
1) Running the GOG's DOSBox settings tool and changing the Graphic Mode.
2) Running the game without DOSBox as explained in this guide.
Dr.schliemann's suggestions should both solve the issue. Instead of trying them in order, though, I highly recommend doing option #2 instead of option #1. If you have any problems following the instructions for that at the link that he gave, my alternate instructions for achieving the same result can be found here.
Thank you dr.schliemann and jnisbet for answers. I solved in this way: in that day was late for any other attempt , but before closing the PC, I wanted to try to change the settings DOXBox , from Diret3D to OpenG . The video has started without giving error of DirectX9 , but always crashed after the initial movie with a beep, the black screen then closes by itself , and the DOSBox settings always return to the original ones. I was going to do what I had to for run the game without DOSBox , when you opening the file directory , I have seen once again the icon of "Tomb Raider Safe Mode", I still have tried to click on it and the game has started has been running for 4 hours without problems.
I now play in full screen, and any widescreen resolution, including those with a correct scale, there is the soundtrack , everything was perfect for the moment

Previously , to start the game I click on the icon created on my desktop , called "Tomb Raider 1" or the "play" button in DOXBox, when to change and save the graphics settings , but in my case it was sufficient to set the graphics resolution suitable for my system, save it once, and then start the game from TR Safe Mode.
This gives an idea about how little practice on the PC.
I apologize for written extensively - I thank you again and see you next
