There's plenty of threads on running this at a high resolution with 3D wrapper and whatnot, but I much prefer the chunky Sega Saturn look of TR1's software renderer. The colours are much more vibrant as well.

The only problem is that I can't figure out how to enable it at all. I tried setting glide to false in the dosbox config but that didn't do anything.

Now I doubt many people are into making this game even lower resolution, but has anyone attempted and managed to get either the GOG or Steam version of TR1 working in software, or without this glide wrapper getting in the way?

Edit your shortcut (right-click->Properties) and replace "dosboxTR_single.conf" with "dosboxTR_soft.conf". That causes tombs.exe, the software renderer-only version of the game, to run instead of the regular tomb.exe.
