MonkeyGamer69: But I just remembered that cloud saves in Heroic aren't working for this game. I've have the game synced for cloud saves and forced it to upload to the Gog cloud, then reinstalled the game (multiple times) trying to figure out why it crashes and forced it to download cloud saves only to find when I launch the game I only have the option to start a new game. Through testing, cloud saves are working for other Gog games I have, that I played on Windows 11. I'm able to download the saves and continue where I left off. So far it seems to be Rise that doesn't work. (haven't tried Shadow of the Tomb Raider yet since I wanted to play them in order. I've had Tomb Raider 2013 from Gog and completed it quite a while ago.)

Locutus: They actually do work, but Heroic detects the wrong path. You got to correct this manually. Heroic detects a path like

/PathToYourHeroicPrefixes/Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration/drive_c/users/username/AppData/Local/GOG.com/Galaxy/Applications/undefined/Storage/S hared/F iles

But the actual game progress (including saves) is stored in

/PathToYourHeroicPrefixes/Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration/drive_c/users/username/AppData/Local/GOG.com/Galaxy/Applications/58668848197088414/S torage/ Shared/Files

Just change that in the Cloud Saves settings, force a manual upload of your current game progress and then, it should be on GoG's cloud.
Thank you very much. That worked. Honestly I've only been using Bazzite (and Heroic) for about a month, so I'm still new to this whole Linux thing.
I have the exact same issue. Turning off the internet connection resolves the problem. For those wondering: Running GOG Galaxy offline still provides you with play time tracking and achievements. It will sync, after you go back online. And don't panic. It will take a few minutes to synchronize your time and unlocked achievements.
With Comet support disabled in the Heroic Games Launcher I haven't had any crashes in Rise so far. Cloud saves are still working (thanks to @Locutus for pointing out I needed to change the file path).

It seems that Comet support is a global thing as I haven't found an option to disable it for individual games. It's fine though. Don't really care about achievements. All I really wanted was for my game to stop crashing and cloud saves working, and so far so good.
I can confirm that going offline works for me as well. I tried interacting about 10 times between 2 different camp sites and it didn't crash at all this time.

At first, I thought it was due to GameMode being turned on since the logs showed an error saying gamemodeauto: dlopen failed - libgamemode.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. Although it stopped the game from crashing every time I interacted with a camp site, it still continued to crash every other time. Then I tried to disable Esync, Fsync, MangoHUD, etc., and nothing worked. Switching to DX11 also had no effect.

Thanks @dt42 for providing the solution! The game seems to work now even with Fsync, Esync, GameMode, and MangoHUD turned on. I can finally get back to playing the game. :-)

So I did open a support ticket with GOG about this. And unsurprisingly, the answer is that it isn't supported. Relevant part:

"Indeed, unfortunately, your operating system is not supported for this game. Because of this, I am unable to guarantee that the game will function properly."
