when I select (3840x2160 16 bit) in the windows set up in tr4/tr5 its says "failed to set up directX" what do I need to do to play these games in 4k .. (i have win 8.1 and they work fine in 1080p) I provide images below

Just because they work in 1080p, it does not mean it must work in 4K.
Maybe is the engine of tomb raider reaching his limit here!

According to wsgf you have to use dgVoodoo 2 to fix resolution limit.
