I am using an Intel HD 530 integrated graphics processor and when I enable shadows the game/main-menu textures have random black artifacts, sort of like a dithering. Turning off shadows fixes this. Is there any way to correct this?

This is most likely a result of running off of the Intel integrated graphics.
GPU requirement:
128 MB NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series or ATI Radeon X800 series or equivalent (256MB NVIDIA or AMD card recommended)

Even though these GPU's are ancient and your integrated gpu is much better/faster theoretically, intel drivers downright suck for a lot of games in my experience. Especially with for example: shadows.

So I think you're out of luck until intel comes with a decent driver.
Quick note on this. I have intel integrated with nVidia (Optimus) and the game tries to use the Intel. You can use the control panel for nVidia to make tq.exe use the nVidia card. It cleared up my graphics instantly :)
