After I updated to 2.10.3 and starting the game, the system crashed immediately. Uninstalling / reinstalling did not fix that, nor did trying the DX9 or the Safe Mode options.

Before 2.10.3, I had no problems with this game.
Was this using Galaxy to install or was it manual installer that you used? Version number should be v2.10.20820.

See is anything here helps

General Steps
Please follow these steps and try in-between in this order
- Run TQ.exe in admin mode.
- Verify files
- In case of the game not starting / crashing on startup:
* Exclude the game's installation directory from your antivirus program's protection mechanisms
* If on Windows 10: Disable the ransomware protection of your documents folder (system settings --> ransomware protection)
- Restart computer
- Update Graphic Cards (GPU) drivers
- Update Windows
- Reinstall the game and delete all folders and files related to TQ. (make backups of your save files first).
- Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework (see guide on internet)
- Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributable (see guide on internet)
- Report it here: https://redmine.thqnordic.com/projects/titan-quest-eternal-embers-community/issues/new
Please provide as much information as you can. Screenshots or videos is possible.

I use the manual installer, but I don't get into the game (so I don't know how to verify the version number), the system freezes when it should display the first intro screen. I'm going to try these steps later, thank you for that.
It seems to be for this patch.

The only thing I can see that might screw something up is this "Removed login window in the Main Menu".

I haven't played the game yet, just saw that there is a patch.
But are you sure that you have the latest version?
The latest installers are of version 2.10.3, wich sounds right for patch #3.

Well, that was for people who might want to multiplay with others who have the game on Epic. On Steam that's now in the launch options. If you don't use Galaxy you can't multiplay anyway unless you use something like LAN or Hamachi and even then I'm not sure you can do it.

Yes, latest version on both Steam and GOG and both show v2.10.20820. Maybe either the devs or GOG staff named the manual installers 2.10.3?

This was it. I have F-Secure Internet Security.

I certainly hope that this is temporary. Thank you again.
Ah yes, the good old false postive from the anti-virus. Happens a lot which is why it's something that you need to check. Don't know why it happens with some games, but it does.

Once it's excluded you should be fine, even with further updates to the game.
What was patched anyways?

No fixes for the many broken achievements. Disappointing.
