I have been playing TQ:AE for about a week now and am amassing a lot of relics/charms that are called like "Essence of Herakles" and "Essence of (insert Greek god here)" and each type has a number like '1/3' or '1 / 5'. Up until now I had just been enchanting weapons and armor with them as I get them (occasionally using the enchanters to remove a relic when I found a better piece to enchant) but it occurs to me that there is probably some way to combine relics/charms of the same type once you have all 3/5/whatever. Can anyone explain this to me? Unfortunately the game seems to have no manual and the tutorial tips and such are of no help in this regard.

Right-click a relic and left-click on another relic of the same type to combine.

This also works even if you've already applied a partial relic to an time. Just right click on a relic piece, then left on the item, and it will apply the piece to the equipment.

I know that. As I said in my OP I was wondering about how one combines (if that is the right word) similar relics/charms together, Like if I had 5 'Essence of Zeus' or some such. This seems like what I was looking for. I was wondering if it worked this way but I was afraid that if I added one relic/charm to a piece it would block any further attempts or something.

He's saying you can combine a relic to a relic to get a higher level relic (that is, a 1/5 relic combined with a 1/5 relic of the same type will give you a 2/5 relic, and 2/5 + 2/5 will give a 4/5, etc). You can do this with things enchanted in equipment already to upgrade them as well. If you've been collecting them, you should combine them so they don't take up so many inventory slots.

I know this is a bit of an old post but I just wanted to put this here as an alternative to right clicking the relic. The inventory has an auto sort option. if you put all of the relic pieces into your inventory and auto sort it will combine all like relics and artifacts.

Yes. This is a new addition to the Anniversary Edition as part of the new Ragnarok release. It won't work with the old versions of Titan Quest though.
