I have the retail disc and I have to disable hyperthreading in the BIOS just to get to the main menu.

Well so far this doesn't seem to be any different. Same pop up window and same crash as the steam version. A real shame.

I can confirm this game DOES NOT work on intel hyper-threaded systems. it's a real shame because up until now I have been able to find working releases of games on GOG that have been released broken on other platforms.
