The player should receive more quest information, in order for them to not mindlessly try every option just to see if something new changed.

Now this is a big topic, and a lot of improvements can be made, but just to start small, the "quest" should get a top bar exactly like inventory bar (day, time, weather, location, money, curse, beryl seal, castle points). For starters it should contain the Princess reputation, and Firefly reputation, if there are more reputations those as well.

A long way down the road a red dot could be added to the "Speak", "Trade", speech options to indicate that something new has happened. Though this is more part of the final touch.

E1: Effects like reputation loss could actually get displayed.

The game could ask the player if they want to play with a hint system, or not. This hint system could contain:

Generally there are 2 types of players. One that wants to get guided through the game, and the other one that wants to find out everything by himself. Implementing an optional hint system would give both types of players the option to satisfy their desires, while at the same time being able to make the story much more complex without having to fear for loosing players because of the complexity.

That all is true.

UI could be more friendly and informative to the players.

I agree with you I and see a lot of space for improvement there, but I am the lone developer overwhelmed with current project.

I simply have no capacity to implement it all. And I wish not to give any promises.
