micktiegs_8: Lol they have a DRM free version on GamesRepublic... their own distribution site. That response is ridiculous.
avatar
Petrell: It's not updated there either apparently. Seems bit stupid for them to essentially promote alternate distribution channel at cost of their own site. It's like rubbing it to the faces of their own customers.
Ok I just got a reply on Facebook saying that GOG has the new version. This game, Starpoint Gemini, Unepic, Door Kickers have all replied to me with the same story. What the hell is going on here?

not a coincidence it seems. Judas saw my open forum thread and said he pushed the games out. I hate resorting to that but I was out of options.

Well, breaking into GOG offices and forcing them to release what you want at gunpoint is always option. ;-p
So since GOG announced version 1.1.1 we still have 2 more to go? Because i still cant launch the game after update.

Well that's when you should contact the dev directly, because I initially thought they sent over the 1.1.3 version. It would have made sense given the time it was sent.

1.2.0 version is now up on steam:

Version 1.2.0 (17 December 2014)

New big update available now!

The first big thing is a brand new shelter!
From now on, each time you begin your story, you'll have a chance to start in the new building.

The second new feature is the choice of the starting group of characters.
You will have bigger influence on shaping your story of civilians in war, making it more challenging or even giving it a totally new perspective. Please keep in mind that you have to play at least once to unlock this option.

Improvements and tweaks:

Some locations were enhanced
Some animations were improved
NPC behaviors were improved

---------------------------------------------------------

Fixes and balancing:

Fixed screen resolution and refresh rate detection problem, which caused black screen and / or computer freeze on Windows
Fixed black screen issue on Linux and OSX 10.6.8
Improved game stability based on crashdumps sent by players
Fixed a bug with blocked container icons in the shelter
Fixed a bug with blocked access to crafting menu (icon disappearing or not responding)
Fixed a bug with the civilian becoming stuck in cover after being shot
Fixed a bug with wrong number of civilians in the shelter simultaneously
Extremely exhausted civilian will now lay on the floor instead of standing blocked after returning from scavenge
The civilian who went to help neighbours on the last day of the war will now have a proper description in the epilogue
Crafting cancel will return some of the resources now
Civilians or NPCs should no longer pass through closed doors during a fight
Eating Raw Food and Vegetables together is now equal to eating a cooked meal or canned food
Quality Rollups price was fixed
So are we going to get the 1.2 update? That's what GOG has been waiting for right? Because I'm pretty sure we entirely missed a STEAM update...

Petrell: snip
Yeah just saw that a few hours ago. I keep asking the devs from time to time on the facebook page when they're going to give us an update and all they tell me is 'don't worry, you'll get it'. How assuring.

Hopefully in couple of days, but I would not hold my breath. If it's any consolation, the update isn't on their own store apparently either but then again, if it were, devs would have no excuse for not uploading it to other stores who offer DRM-free version.

Considering it took them more than a week last and they never send GOG the latest build, yeah, very assuring. :-p

I think I'll give up on buying anything that hits here day one unless some conditions are met; 1) gog galaxy makes it easier for devs and therefore us, 2) I've looked over the reviews and forums about any bugs/crashes and everyone seems satisfied that the game doesn't have anything too big. If one of those parameters are true then sure I'll buy it, otherwise I'll be waiting until a 50% or over sale because that's all they'll deserve.

Well, it's generally advisable to buy new games ~3 months after release anyway. Usually any major problems have been fixed by then and games price should be reduced and/or it should go on sale by then.
