So, my favorite games, Thief I and II, along with System shock II have a new problem that is ruining my day.

Whenever I start either of them up I am presented with:

ERROR:
Your video hardware is not supported or no supported video mode was found

It's strange because the day before I was playing it just fine.

I am using Tfix for Thief Gold, and taffer patch for Thief II

PLEASE HELP I NEED MAH DOSE OF GOOD GAMES!!!!

have you tried rebooting? looks like your gpu driver crashed or something. if that won't help, post your thief.log.

Any way to make T2X not so obscenely complicated?

To get the EXE to stop freaking out about the CD, I had to load it through DarkLoader, then to get it to run, I had to change compatibility settings to XPSP2. The icing on the cake is the performance is garbage, and it takes a solid 5-10s to switch between menu screens.

Is there a way to get it to run without the frustration?
yes. also please don't use darkloader for anything ever again.

Good god I've gotten old.

So to use the FMs, I remove the semicolon line... but am I allowed to just extract the entire folder for a FM into a FanMission folder or is there a set path for everything?

Edit: Nevermind I figured it out. It was always so simple not sure how I got confused.

i played the 2014 game and in my opinion, i loved it!! but, i wanted to go way back where it all started but unfortunately, its the same problem for me :(

if you have, then your computer may have a problem starting the game in its default 800x600 resolution. patch up with TFix full, that will set it to you desktop resolution, possibly solving the issue.

Hi, for anyone still struggling with this issue, it can also occur if another 3D application such as a game has not closed down properly.

In my scenario, ANNO 1404 does not close when I exit the game and it caused this error when I tried to launch Thief.

Hope this helps someone.
