I've been playing Thief Gold purchased off GOG and when I started I did see the cutscenes in between missions. I forgot that originally I started playing the game with "Run as Administrator". When i went back to the game I started just double clicking on the shortcut instead of running the game as administrator. I'm on to the Thieves Guild mission now and it just occurred to me that I hadn't been seeing any cutscenes.

Some of the solutions that I've seen for this have been to make sure we run the game as administrator.

On a quick check, it seems that if I now run the game as administrator, I cannot load my save games from when I played the game without running the game as administrator. I know where the save games are when I run the game as administrator - but does anyone know where the saved games are saved when I just run the game normally (i.e. not as administrator)?

In other words I now appear to have 2 lots of saved games - one set (did not go very far) when I was first testing the game and ran as administrator. Another set (now at Thieves Guild mission) where I did NOT run the game as administrator.

And I can't seem to find where the second set of save games are so that I can copy them into the saved games folder that seems to hold the saved games when I DID run the game as administrator.

I hope that all makes sense! Hopefully someone out there knows!

Thanks in advance!

After much Googling, I've found the solution for myself! I thought I would post it here in case anyone else happened to find themselves in the same situation.

The saved games are saved in C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files if you play the game not as an administrator.

Thank you for this! In case anyone else finds this and needs to know, the normal save location (when you ARE running as administrator) is C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Thief (2)\SAVES

I had EXACTLY the same problem as you folks, no cutscenes, which you really need for this game for the atmosphere. Running Thief as administrator cured it, then I lost gamesaves location. Found it straight away thanks to your help, so thank you both VERY much.
Also, would like to add, for the benefit of anyone who may not know, you will need to enable "show hidden folders, files and drives", in the folder options menu first, or the "AppData" folder will be hidden..
Thanks again gloves and TheKeck!
