I wanted to pick them up. It is on Steam right now, and while I'm a huge fan of Steam, I'd rather own the Thief games on GOG.

Sitting here staring at my scratched up Thief Gold CDs is disheartening (friends shouldn't let friends borrow games they can't take care of... many years ago, in high school.)

Unfortunately you've already missed them being on sale; they were 50% off until December 19, and 75% off on the 15th and 21st.

There's a small chance of them going on sale yet again for New Year's or something, of course, but you've probably missed out this time. :(

The GOG releases work beautifully on modern Windows versions (and of course have the soundtrack etc. extras) so either way it's money well spent.
I missed the 75% off sale? Ouch. Well, thanks. Yeah, I'll hope they go on sale again. I'm not so desperate that I can't wait, but I recently played through Deus Ex HR and Dishonored, and started hungering for some classic, solid stealth action without RPG elements getting in the way.

It's GOG, it will happen again. You might need to wait about a month or two though.

But honestly, the price is not that bad. If you're really itching for it, get it whenever. Just get cheaper stuff on a meal or one less drink here and there. The hours you'll spend with Thief will probably make you forget to eat a few times anyway (money saving game!).

You could try Splinter Cell if you haven't already? http://www.gog.com/gamecard/splinter_cell
It's currently 4.99 and great fun if you're into ghosting with the odd takedown.

Hitman 2 is on here too, no Blood Money though. ;_; And it's at the same price as Thief. Still, the ability to shoot everyone in the level and get an undetected mark at the end is hilarious. Chronicles of Riddick is half price at 7.49? Has some RPG cut scenes, but it's great fun. You can spend 20mn sneaking through duct systems avoiding everyone, finally get bored and come out near a guard. Pump a shotgun into his back then stalk from room to room with an Armalite AR-10 Carbine-gas semiautomatic, bitterly pumping round after round into guards and co-prisoners.

Somewhat Deus Ex'y in it's ability to seamlessly switch from complete stealth to all out carnage. Either way, there's a few good stealth games on here to tide you over till Thief goes on sale.
They have the Steampunk/Cyberpunk pack up again, if you are wanting the Thief and Deus Ex games on sale.
Was hoping it would be just the Thief games. I already own Deus Ex and its sequel on not-GOG. Oh well.

If you already own them on GOG, you will still get a big discount for the 'reduced package'. They won't charge you for the games you already own.

They give you 75% off on just the the thief games, and Anachronix.

I own them on Steam, not GOG. That's what I meant by not-GOG, haha. But yes, they do. I'd definitely get Thief 1-3 and Anachronox for $9.
Well, personally, I think $13.94 for just the three Thief Games, and Anachronox is a 'steal'.... That's like 4 games for $3.50 each. Normally like $9.99 each? That's better than 50% off isn't it?

Think of getting the two Deus Ex games as a 'bonus' on top of that, ;).

Plus even if you have extra copies of Deus Ex with the GOG versions you don't have to worry about any DRM issues, easy to copy to multiple computers. Doesn't require to be logged into Steam to use.
