I recently installed Thief Gold along with the universal update, and after tailoring the controls to what is most comfortable to me I began with the training level. I felt the game was too bright so I tried adjusting gamma and much to my surprise it was not working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but I still have this issue. I also downloaded the game on my laptop and gamma adjust works fine on that. Could someone please help me? I would love to enjoy the game in its native brightness.

Go to your game's installation folder and open cam_ext,cfg with any text editor.

If you're running the game in fullscreen, got to the "D3D9 render options" section and remove the semicolon in front of
;d3d_disp_no_rgb10_buf
Save and close the file and start the game.

If gamma adjusting doesn't work while running the game in windowed mode, remove the semicolon in front of
;d3d_disp_sw_cc
