Hello! This is the first time I am posting on the GOG forums! :D

So, first off: This is not important at all. It’s just me being curious.

I was playing THIEF: Gold and to my surprise, in the second mission, Cragscleft Prison, the two hammerite guards at the stairs leading into the factory were dead, replaced with three roaming zombies. I may be wrong, which is why I am asking, but this is not normal behavior… is it? I have played this game before and I never saw that. I always play on Expert too. Is this a random event that I am not aware of? Did the scripting mess up?

It is not important; I am simply curious. I vividly remember those two guards being alive and having a talk before patrolling. Plus, the way they are on the ground, with blood on the floor, makes it look like: Somehow, the zombies ambushed them before I arrive and it happened in game, like it was bad luck.

Did TFix did this? I think it is my first time playing with TFix. There was something about changing the AI mesh, something like that, in the installer. maybe there is a link?

Anyway. Just curious. I actually had some descent fun trying to lure zombies in the factory to see what would happen with the guards. But turns out, they will always prioritize you. If you lose them though… stuff happens. One of the guard just stood there and die. While, on another attempt, two of them ruthlessly killed a zombie, making it explode. Good times.
they got killed by zombies, it can happen - vanilla behavior, afaik.

I can kind of fix it by making stealth not apply to zombies (so they can't sneak upon the hammerites, which they like to do), but not sure whether I actually should.
