I click the play button in gog or thr desktop game icon, the game starts to load but around halfway loaded there is a click sound and the load goes back to having to click the play button again.
has anyone else had this problem and if so how was it resolved... thanks

Play button? Where?

I know where, but you must clearly say taht. For GOG Galaxy build double check game files in Galaxy after any game installed\updated. Same as in any other games clients or torrent app.

Doesnt start for me either. Sometimes the Main Menu loads but if i click something it crashes again.
I tried reinstalling/checking the files but didnt help.

Check game files (or use offline installer). After that clear My Document\My Games\They Are Billions folder.
If you use pirate copy before - turn off firewall\restore hosts system file
www.gog.com/forum/they_are_billions/crash_at_the_end_of_the_first_mision

I Tried checking the Files, Installing from Gog Galaxy, installing from offline, deleted the Savegame Folder but always the same error. Also checked on my Notebook. Same Problem.
Never used a pirated copy of the Game. Disabling Firewall doesnt help either

I found out that the Game does not run/crash when MSI Afterburner is startet. Now it runs fine

I confirm that MSI Afterburner and/or Riva Tuner Statistics Server are a "no-go" for this game. Stopping those softwares allow the game to run correctly.
