Perhaps I'm alone in this, but I seem to remember this game having quite a detailed manual, and we at least need the list of controls. It's not like there's the standard intuitive tooltipped interface that we get nowadays, it's from the days when there were really wierd esoteric functions that you couldn't guess at.

I do agree. Manuals in the 90's were actually really appreciated. Especially in simulation games!

Is there a PC manual online?

Replacementdocs only has the install guide for Theme Park. The install guide mentions an online user manual, so I would guess from that there never was a printed user guide for the PC and that original retail users had to refer to Bullfrog's online manual for the game. I'd hope that it is therefore archived off somewhere, but I've not found one yet. Best option right now is the link that wpegg gave, and you can then go to the printer friendly version and save it as a html document.

I should have the printed manual laying about somewhere, probably stowed away in my parents' basement. It is a rather thick manual. Imagine an early 90's flight simulator kind of thick manual. Those 70 pages in the OP link is probably the one I have.

If you find it and it turns out to be different, please message JudasIscariot to see if GOG can use it.

I'm guessing the missing manual is due to legal & licensing reasons.

The original big box had a printed manual and the re-release should have the manual on the disc..

Agree a manual really helps mastering the game.

Contacted the support about it, was told all manuals they could find were lacking quality to release it. From what I have seen on the web I can agree, often missing pages or manuals from another system, etc.

Got the game on CD-ROM from a German Green Pepper release, though there would've been enough space to offer manuals in all languages (as the game offers several languages) there's just the German on it. Been thinking about translating my PDF to English. Found the English original text in a file. Sadly the person who typed it didn't care about spelling, grammar or even periods. So I have to fix that myself.

Since I am fluent in both languages and not too bored to start such a task it'll take a while. Not as long as Duke Nukem Forever though. In my old job had Acrobat Pro, simplifies the work. Right now working my way through it with free tools from time to time.

My idea was if an English Green Pepper release of the game existed to get that manual would be great. But haven't even found any info about it. Green Pepper doesn't offer info about anything dated before 2000.

If anybody is interested in at least the German PDF manual let me know, it's small. Text is perfectly legible, the pictures in the manual are not very sharp but not needed anyway.

I'm pretty sure I got a manual with the big box release (the original big blue one) of the game which must be with all my manuals at my parent's house. I will check next time I'm there

I'm really surprised that this game comes with no extras of any kind on GOG.

Managed to track down a CD copy of the game from Amazon. The manual is on there as an application similar to Windows Help. However, it is a 16-bit application so there's no way to install it on 64-bit Windows. I was able to install it on a Windows 98 VM. While the manual is printable, the screenshots are not printed correctly. The text is perfectly legible. I would have preferred either a physical manual or a PDF scan of the manual to the "ebook" version on the CD, that's for sure. Silly thing is, the game was a full big box with only a jewel case and registration card in it. Plenty of room for a physical manual in there.

But not a huge loss. I was able to put my DVD-case Theme Park World and CD envelop of SimCoaster in the box...

I found my copy of the manual from the DOS version I had back in the day, it's not in the greatest of shape but still serviceable. Here are some pictures of it, i just came across a printer/scanner someone was throwing away, if i can manage to get it to run I'll see about scanning the manual in (it's only 61 pages so not as thick as some may remember but still pretty decent). Maybe GOG can include it on the site if the quality is up to snuff.

If I had your manual here I could create a pretty decent digital copy from it. Makes me wonder why in other languages the manual has several additional pages. I have the German manual and it is more than 61 pages, first editions of the game have if I recall correctly around 90 pages.

Any progress? :)
