I can't seem to find an online copy of the manual anywhere but don't know any of the controls, anyone know a list of controls? Thanks.

You use the mouse to figure out a lot yourself.

The icons at at the bottom are for rides and roads.

If you move your mouse upwards, a menu will appear, with various options and the keyboard shortcuts are written there as well.
I have an original manual stored away somewhere unless it has been thrown out by my infinitely wise "throw-every-box-manual-and-warranty-certificate-in-sight" mother since I moved out of the house.

I've been working my way back into the game from memory. So far I've re-learned the following helpful hints.

- R toggles 320x240 and 640x480
- O opens or closes the park
- P Pauses the game (unfortunately it also freezes the game menu at the top of the screen)

- Most things (everything?) lack helpful mouse-over pop ups describing what they are and what they do. If you click on the question mark button, the advisor may SOMETIMES describe the functions of buttons while you mouse-over them. Frustrating, but better than nothing.

- You can place sign posts to help the path finding for your visitors. Select the Sign Post tool, click on a ride or shop that you want the sign to announce, find a spot to place the sign and click several times until you get the heading you want it to be. Try not to give conflicting directions because if some snotty child wants to ride the ghost train and have some fries, he will follow sign posts towards both those locations and can get caught in a loop if the signs point toward eachother.

- You can define patrol patterns along pathways for Handymen. The icon looks like two purple balls connected with a line. I don't remember exactly how the tool works but you need it eventually as your park grows and litter starts piling up. It doesn't help if you have tens of handymen and they are all busy cleaning the same corner of the park. Give them proper routes so that you know there is someone covering every part of your park.

- Sometimes people get stuck and the advisor won't shut up about it. If it's an employee you can pick them up and move them but if it is a visitor it can be much more troublesome. Sometimes the AI thinks it is stuck because a line to a ride is moving very slowly. This usually fixes itself once the line starts moving or the ride is turned off. Other times the visitor AI simply wanders off and gets stuck on scenery, or you accidentally place scenery on top of them. I'm guessing this "feature" started out as a debugging tool that they cruelly turned into a part of the game to lampshade problems with the AI.

- The stock market updates on the 1st of every month. It is a pain to rush the decisions you need to do quickly around this date but it is how you make enough money to get ahead of the competition. In fact, if you are too passive about it you're going to have a hard time playing the full simulation at all because your opponents will buy all shares of your company/park. A very good reason to slow the game down, even artificially with DOSBox.
Does anyone know how to fire employees in this game? Can you? I couldn't find out how to on cursory glance, but there really should be a way to do it in this game.

Move the mouse into the blue bar, and press the Right-Mouse-Button to activate the menu.
