After updating the game on Switch I just had to try out the cross-save functionality, but on PC the game isn't responding to my Xbox One S2 Elite controller. At all. No switching of inputs or anything like that, just dead.

Tried deleting the config files in my documents folder but it didn't take. Anyone know what's up with it? It of course works fine in other games (was playing, ironically, Control mere minutes before starting up Witcher 3)

Make sure you plug the controller before starting the game.
\GOG Galaxy\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY\bin\x64
Move xinput1_3.dll away from the folder. GOG Galaxy -> Witcher 3 -> Verify files.
You also can try to copy another xinput1_3.dll form another game. (In this case, from Control)

Plug the controller and:
Windows Key + R -> joy.cpl -> test it
Windows Key + R -> devmgmt.msc -> Xbox One Controller -> Properties -> Update driver
Windows Key + R -> devmgmt.msc -> Xbox One Controller -> Properties -> Revert driver to an old one (2014)

Also disable Xboxapp for Witcher 3

Thank you for the reply!

I managed to fix it by changing ForceDisablePad=true to =false in documents\the witcher 3\user.settings No idea why it would be set to true when the game recreated the files in that folder, but now it works.
