Rankeaton: So recently I just noticed that whatever you pick in this game, there really isn't a happy ending, just after finishing the Ladies of the Wood/ Family matters quest line, I decided to free the spirit so I could save the children, but anna dies and the baron hangs himself, if you kill the evil spirit all the children die, WTF!
My ending was fcking amazing..

overall I really feelt garald in my game had an amazing ending..
Spoilers:

garald moved to Kovir and got a house with Triss (that always smelt like honey cakes, and were every friend was welcome)

and probably lived happely ever after ... I LOVED my ending :D

I tried doing it both ways and settled on killing the spirit, but it bothered me a lot and I pondered about it as I played on in game (I love that the game does this to you). I ‘think’ there may be a possible way to come out with a slightly less than happy unhappy ending. I am purely speculating because I didn’t have the energy to go back and try it a third time, but I think it may be possible for Anna not to die if you take the route of freeing the spirit.

One of the questions the three asked gives you the chance to honestly admit you betrayed them and freed the spirit. I suspect if you admit what you did, then possibly, maybe, perhaps… they won’t punish Anna by killing her. But this is just a guess.
I did exactly that. Admitted I freed the spirit. Anna still got punished and died. Baron hung himself.

Leeira: I did not read your posting but I want to say: The title itself is kind of a big spoiler... I am just doing this quest and to know what is written in the title takes away from the tension.
Totally right, imo either change the title or delete the thread for a new one ?
