I'm sorry if this has been posted already but I caught the press release talking about Witcher 3: Wild Hunt being released again with a free update. Does this include GOG copies?

Press Release:

Developed to take advantage of powerful video-game hardware, the next generation edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content.

The next generation edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available as a standalone purchase on PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and as a free update for current owners of the game on PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4.
Hopefully it's gonna be smth like optional Hi-Res Pack. I wanna keep my current version intact. (Including GOG Galaxy download).

I really hope they're going to increase LOD/Draw distance with this next gen upgrade. The game looks really great as is, but the pop-ins are really distracting.
The Witcher 3 is great game, I would be like if it would be possible buy something like "maintenance pack" which would mean, that they would also fix minor things as missing water in harbour (can be fixed by mod) and similar things.

Either way it is fantastic news and I am looking forward to play it again after this patch come out.

Even some new DLC would be fine - after finishing it, I am sure, that I would buy it soon.
Someone has told me that steam is telling the users who has it that will be upgraded, however I'm not seeing anything on gog or my library.

It makes no sense (I think) that they announce to upgrade it on steam and don't do it on their own store.

I hope is optional but I would love to have that option
