I am having a lot of trouble with the fight against the wraith.

It seems like all of my attacks do little to no damage against the fucking thing and it's becoming a real pain in the ass. I've tried wraith oil, I cannot make moondust, and even yrden isn't helping.
Now I am stll level one at the moment and this is the first quest, aside from the tutorial, that I am doing.

I don't now what to do can anyone help.

EDIT: thanks everyone for the replies. I had actually beaten the wraith a few minutes after posting this, I simply used Yrden and I was able to kill it easily. I guess I was just doing it wrong.

Skip this until you made yourself a better Silversword and have a decent (beginner) armor? You will be able to craft a better Silversword in the beginning area.
Did you find and burn the body and bracers? I'm not sure you can harm her without doing this. After that it's pretty easy. Lure her in the area of yrden and kill her there. You can't harm her outside yrden.

Do some other quests first, get better armor, specter oil, get some muscle memory points(light attack damage up skil).

The better silver sword should be unnecessary, for me the noonwraith of this quest droped the emerald dust I needed to craft it.

I was however about lvl 3, with 5+ skill points(thanks to places of power) when I did it, It went down reasonably fast, about 3 fast attack chains.
Use Yrden. It force the wraith to corporialize. While the wraith is solid (it's visibly different), you do much more damage to it. When it splits into multiple images, just knock them out one by one.

Dodge carefully, take your time. Don't spam any attack.

If you're on the second easiest difficulty or the easiest, there probably isn't much more to it than this. I haven't played on harder difficulty.
She has to be in Yrden all the time, it is not sufficent to get her in the trap once, she has to be in it all the time you want to hurt her. Remember it is most important to not get hit, getting her down fast is not important. Always back off after 2-3 hits. Try to be evading so good that you don't need Quen so you can have Yrden up all the time. The small enemies she spawns can be killed outside of Yrden with a single fast attack... kill them fast.

The general strategy is the same. I think on hard she was also healing while split into multiple images and she could take 75% of my health in one hit.
I think I've made all the quest, but didn't find any Silver sword scheme. Found a silver sword of the Viper School, but turned out it was steel.

Anyway, I was underleveled in that quest and I had basic armor, Hard level. Just use Yrden, attack and dodge. That's all. Use Quen and Igni if necessary.

Noon and Night wraiths are basically immune to your attacks because they are ethereal. They only phase in when they attack you (too dangerous to try and fight them then) or when they are in the trap circle. You can actually see a change in their appearance when they phase in so they can be damaged (I’m playing on ultra, lower level graphics may not show the change well, I don’t know). So your strategy should be to keep the circle in front of you and let her cross it towards you.

Once she’s a good ways across the circle, hammer her until you knock her out of the circle. Then stop and run back across and wait. Not an easy fight but once you realize she can only be damaged when not in her ethereal form it’s is a lot easier.
